Which team won the DJ Moore trade? Bills or Bears?

· Yahoo Sports

Today, the Chicago Bears traded wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills for a second-round draft pick. Both teams should benefit from this move, so we will take a look and see how this trade helps both teams. What’s more fun, though, is deciding which team actually won the trade. There is a case to be made for each side, but there can only be one winner.

This is a great trade for Buffalo as it gives Josh Allen the number one receiver that he’s been lacking for some time. Moore had his best seasons back in Carolina when Joe Brady was the offensive Coordinator, so this reunion should help him get back into being one of the top 20 receivers in the league. It also helps Josh Allen, as Moore, along with Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, are reliable pass catchers, which should help Allen stay atop the list of best fantasy quarterbacks in the league.

Making A Case For The Bears:

For Chicago, this really opens up a ton of opportunity for second-year wide receiver Luther Burden III as well as Rome Odunze. Burden, especially, saw his route tree grow throughout the season, and he easily can be a top 25 fantasy receiver in 2026.  Not to be forgotten as well, tight end Colston Loveland was becoming a huge target for Caleb Williams towards the end of the season, and that is expected to continue in 2026. For some reason, Moore and Williams were never able to get on the same page, and it often felt like Williams was forcing the ball in Moore’s direction, which hurt Ben Johnson’s creative play-calling schemes.

Conclusion:

This trade is a win-win for both teams. The Bills get a number one receiver, which they so desperately need, and the Bears get money that they can spend in free agency, as well as get more targets and opportunities for young receivers who need to grow and flourish. BUT, for the sake of this article, the Bills have won this trade. They get their number one WR for the best QB in football, and it could be what helps them get over the hump in the postseason.
