The Baltimore Ravens backed out of a mega-deal with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire Maxx Crosby. The reported reason: Crosby failed his physical.

Raiders fans aren’t the only ones regretting the turn of events. One Ravens fan might be feeling it, too. A Ravens fanatic known as Nate recently followed through on a promise he made when the initial Crosby agreement surfaced.

Five days ago, Nate posted a declaration on X (formerly Twitter) under the screen name Hamilton_DPOY. He promised to shave his head if the Ravens traded for Crosby.

A man of his word, Nate later posted photos of his brand-new haircut on X. About an hour later, news broke that the Ravens had backed out of the deal with the Raiders.

While it’s admirable that Nate followed through on his promise, he may have jumped the gun. The trade couldn’t become official until Wednesday at 4 p.m., when the new league year begins.

The good news for Nate: his hair will grow back, and the Ravens will regain their first-round picks. The bad news: he’ll have to wait for both his hair to return and for the Ravens to address their pass-rush woes.

As for the Raiders, they must now search for a new trade partner for Crosby. It’s unclear whether they can secure a deal as strong as the one that fell apart.
