In Tuesday's game, San Antonio defeated the Sacramento Kings by 28 in a blowout victory on the second night of a back-to-back.
Victor Wembanyama finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block.
De'Aaron Fox finished with 15 points, six assists, five rebounds and zero turnovers against his former team.
Following the game, Fox spoke to the media about Wembanyama, his competitive nature and his impact on winning.
"Whether it's training camp, practice, a shooting drill, the All-Star Game, it doesn't matter. Vic's trying to win. (...) He wants to be the best player on the floor every time he steps on the floor."
In his third season, Wembanyama is averaging 24.2 points, a career-high 11.1 rebounds, one steal and three blocks.
No other player in the NBA this season is averaging two blocks or more, with Jay Huff of the Indiana Pacers being the next closest (1.9).
Due to Wembanyama's strong play, along with a deep bench, the Spurs look to be title contenders and currently hold the second-best record (51-18) in the league.
Additionally, the Spurs are 7-1 against top-three teams this season. Their most recent win against a top-three opponent came earlier this month against the Boston Celtics.
Now three games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder with 13 remaining, the Spurs will have Wednesday off before returning to action Thursday against the Phoenix Suns.
