With the club determined to add firepower to their attack, the technical department has already begun exploring multiple options, ranging from elite names to more financially viable alternatives.
According to a recent revelation from SPORT, Barcelona are now seriously considering entering the race for Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, a move that could complicate ongoing negotiations elsewhere.
The Catalan club’s need for a striker has been evident for months. While the squad has attacking quality, there is a growing feeling that a natural number nine is required to prepare for life in the post-Lewandowski era.
That is why the recruitment team has been scanning the market for options capable of making an immediate impact.
At the top of Barcelona’s shortlist remains Julian Alvarez, a player who is highly valued within the club.
However, any potential move for the Argentine would involve a significant financial outlay, pushing Barcelona to seriously assess alternative profiles.
Serhou Guirassy enters the list
As a result, Guirassy has now emerged as one such option. The Borussia Dortmund forward has been attracting attention not only in Europe but also from Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad are reportedly keen on securing his signature and see him as a major addition to their squad.
However, there is increasing concern within the Saudi club that Barcelona’s interest could disrupt their plans.
From a sporting perspective, Guirassy has scored 18 goals across all competitions this season and has surpassed the 30-goal mark across the last two campaigns in Germany.
Financially, the deal is also appealing. Valued at around €40 million, Guirassy represents a far more affordable option compared to some of the club’s primary targets.
Despite being under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2028, the 30-year-old is believed to be open to a new challenge this summer.
While he is willing to consider a move to Saudi Arabia, the possibility of joining Barcelona could significantly change his stance.
Simply put, a move to Camp Nou remains a far more attractive sporting project, and he would reportedly be prepared to wait for such an opportunity.
