Houston hosts PGA Tour, Astros Opening Day, Cougars in NCAAs on same day

Talk about your busy sports weeks. The Texas Children's Houston Open is going to have some competition for eyeballs and ticket sales this week.
The PGA Tour stop at Memorial Park Golf Course is Thursday through Sunday. Thursday also happens to be Opening Day for the Houston Astros, who take on the Los Angeles Angels. First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m. local time. The golf tournament is run by the Astros Golf Foundation.

But that's not all, sports fans. The Houston Cougars men's basketball team, the No. 2 seed in the South Region and the national runner-up a year ago, take on No. 3-seed Illinois at, you guessed it, the Toyota Center, home of the NBA's Houston Rockets. That game tips off 9:05 p.m. local time (10:05 p.m. ET).
The PGA Tour's Texas Children's Houston Open will also begin play on Thursday at Memorial Park while the Houston Astros' season opener is set for a 3:10 pm first pitch at Daikin Park, just a 10-minute walk or so from the Toyota Center and the NCAA Tournament games.
