Iowa State Cyclones star Audi Crooks on Thursday confirmed that she will enter the NCAA transfer portal and play out her final college season away from Ames, Ia.
Crooks becomes the 10th Iowa State player to enter the portal following the Cyclones' exit from the NCAA Tournament last month.
Eighth-seeded Iowa State lost to Syracuse in the opening round, with Crooks scoring 37 points in the 72-63 defeat.

Crooks' entry into the portal should touch off a huge bidding war for her services. The 6-3 center is the nation's second-ranked scorer at 25.8 points per game, and she led the Big 12 Conference both in scoring and in field-goal percentage over the past two seasons.
Though her game comes with some limitations — specifically on defense — Crooks' size and scoring ability are proven weapons, while her name recognition alone will bring huge visibility to her next team.

One potential fit might be two hours down the road from Ames, in Iowa City.
Crooks could simply transfer to the University of Iowa, which is roughly a four-hour drive from her hometown of Algona, Ia. Iowa and Iowa State are in-state rivals, but they do not play in the same conference; a transfer to Jan Jensen's program might not be terribly challenging.
The Hawkeyes need an injection of star power. Iowa suffered a stunning upset to the 10-seed Virginia Cavaliers in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and Crooks would bring eyes back to the program following Caitlin Clark's departure two years ago. That transfer might benefit everyone.
Commenters on Crooks' Instagram threw out LSU and South Carolina as options for the junior center, while another said she should consider heading to USC to play with Jazzy Davidson and JuJu Watkins.
But it is probable that Crooks opts to remain close to her roots. That means Big 10 programs like Iowa, Michigan and Ohio State are going to be on alert, as they look for that piece that will push them into the second or third weekends of the NCAA Tournament.
