Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): This year, instead of the usual eight, nine officers from State Police Service (SPS) may be awarded Indian Police Service (IPS) status, as one position left vacant last year has been added to the current allocation.

Last year, five officers from the SPS were slated to be awarded IPS status. For these vacancies, the names of 15 officers were considered. During the process, Vikrant Murav of 1997 batch along with Surendra Kumar Jain, Ashish Khare and Rajesh Raghuvanshi of 1998 batch were awarded IPS status.

However, one position was kept on hold for Amrit Meena of 1997 batch. As Meena did not meet the eligibility criteria within the stipulated timeframe, the held position has lapsed and he was not awarded IPS status.

Consequently, the remaining vacancy from the previous Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) has been added to this year’s DPC proceedings. The Police Headquarters has drafted a proposal for nine vacancies. As part of the process, the service records of 27 officers from 1997, 1998 and 2000 batches have been compiled.

Names for this year

The following names have been included in the proposal and forwarded to the home department for IPS award: Sitaram Sasatya, Amrit Meena, Nimisha Pandey, Rajesh Kumar Mishra, Malay Jain, Amit Saxena, Manisha Pathak Soni, Suman Gurjar, Sandeep Mishra, Savyasachi Saraf, Samar Verma, Satyendra Singh Tomar and Anjana Tiwari.
