Real Madrid megastar’s renewal could be finalised once the important games of the season are over

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr.’s current contract with the club expires in 2027, meaning he will be entering the final year of his deal at the end of the season.

Talks over a renewal had fallen through earlier in the season and the presence of Xabi Alonso, who had a difficult relationship with the Brazilian, served to complicate matters.

However, things have improved since then and the 25-year-old forward himself has gone on record stating that he wishes to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for a long time.

Renewal once the important matches are out of the way

Now, building on that, Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid and Vinicius will finalise the contract agreement without major issues once the most important matches of the season are over.

The Brazilian has had his ups and downs this season and there has been tension at times, especially when Alonso was manager, as mentioned previously.

His relationship with current head coach Alvaro Arbeloa is much stronger though, while the Brazilian continues to enjoy a healthy equation with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

So, despite past friction, Real Madrid are expected to move forward with Vinicius’ renewal, which they consider a priority, in the coming weeks, once the important games of the season are out of the way.

Vinicius has been in no rush to renew, knowing that the closer he gets to the expiry of his contract, the stronger his position will be in negotiations.

However, Real Madrid do not intend to break the bank in order to renew his deal. So, the Brazilian will have to make some compromises on his financial demands.
