Apr. 21—VIRGINIA — The Bemidji High School softball team had a tough time slowing down Rock Ridge's hitters on Tuesday.
The Lumberjacks fell 7-2 on the road in Virginia. The Wolverines totaled 10 hits, with four of them being extra-base hits. Brooklyn Smith, Mattelyn Seppi and Mayme Scott each doubled, while Taylor Morley tripled.

Morey was a force in the circle as well, surrendering just two runs on four hits with 11 strikeouts. Her only blemish came in the seventh inning when Aubrey Hanson doubled to set up Clara Sherwood's two-run blast.
Karley LaZella and Hanson combined to throw six innings for BHS (3-2). They allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.
