· Yahoo Sports
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has been sidelined since April 6, when he required appendectomy surgery. He has not yet played this postseason.
Embiid was diagnosed with appendicitis, which typically requires a recovery time of four to six weeks. However, while pushing for a quick return, the 76ers officially upgraded him to "doubtful" for Game 3 against the Boston Celtics.

Here is what 76ers coach Nick Nurse said about the recovery (via Sixers Wire):
"He wants to play and we want him to play. I don't know how close we are to that at this point, but I think there's some progress being made."
The big man began a conditioning program on Monday and participated in practice on Thursday.
The 76ers series is currently tied with the Celtics, 1-1, as the teams head to Philadelphia after two games in Boston.
