Jeremy Swayman made 22 saves.

The Bruins did not change their lineup from Game 5. For the second straight game, they were without forward Viktor Arvidsson (upper-body injury).

The legendary Tim Thomas welcomed the Bruins to the ice as the Fan Banner Captain

Alex Tuch opened the scoring at the 3:25 mark. Rasmus Dahlin found Tuch wide open outside of Swayman’s crease.

Shortly after the goal, Zach Benson batted the puck behind Swayman, but the referees immediately waved the goal off as he played the puck above the crossbar.

Mattias Samuelsson scored his second goal of the postseason, beating Swayman with a shot from the point at 12:26 as Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson provided the screen.

The Sabres led the Bruins 2-0 after 20 minutes and held a 12-6 shots advantage.

David Pastrnak connected on a one-timer from Pavel Zacha and put the Bruins on the board just 1:54 into the second period.

Pastrnak’s goal was the only one of the second period, a period filled with scrums, missed calls, and an eight-minute stretch of continuous play.

The Sabres carried a 2-1 lead into the third period and led in shots, 19-14.

The Bruins opened the third period with seven of the first eight shots.

On the ninth shot of the period, Zach Benson extended the Sabres’ lead to 3-1. Josh Doan beat out both Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy to a loose puck and set up Benson for the dagger

Josh Norris scored the empty-net goal to put an end to the Bruins’ season.

With 91 seconds remaining in the game, Zach Benson took Charlie McAvoy out behind Jeremy Swayman’s net. McAvoy responded, chopping at Benson like a lumberjack and getting a five-minute major and game misconduct.

The Bruins will meet in the next few days for their exit interviews.
