The Boston Celtics are being seen as one of the potential suitors for Giannis Antetokounmpo if he is dealt, and it would likely cost them Jaylen Brown.

Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP and would fill Brad Stevens' desire to make the Celtics a more impactful team at the rim. He will not be cheap, and Brown's salary would have to be moved in some way, shape or form. That could simply mean sending him to the Milwaukee Bucks or getting a third team involved to take him.

Trading Brown will be a controversial topic among Celtics fans this offseason. On one hand, he and Tatum have been a great duo and have proven they can compete for and win a championship together. On the other hand, Brown is set to sign a new extension and Stevens may be eyeing a major change after a first-round exit. Additionally, regardless of how good Brown is or how much Celtics fans like him, Antetokounmpo is on another level.

While there are certainly reasons to part with Brown for a player like Antetokounmpo, Stephen A. Smith outlined a reason not many people are talking about.

Smith agreed with trading Brown to get Antetokounmpo for purely basketball reasons, but added that Brown's comments after the season ended clearly indicate that he wants to be the top option. Brown has since then doubled down on those comments, but clarified that it was because of how the team came together despite Tatum being hurt.

Regardless, Smith is under the impression that Brown would prefer to lead his own team, rather than play in the shadow of Tatum. It's hard to deny that Antetokounmpo would not be an upgrade over Brown, but Smith just gave fans another thing to take into account when it comes to parting ways with Brown.
