The Chicago Cubs, sitting at 29-18, have arguably been the most impressive team in Major League Baseball.

However, over the past 10 games, we've seen some problems start for this organization, going 4-6 and recently dropping a series to the Chicago White Sox over the weekend. It's been a tough stretch for the Cubs, and a lot of it is due to the injuries they're dealing with on both sides of the baseball. The Cubs have had guys who have stepped up in an impressive way, but they definitely need more if they're looking to win a World Series.

It'll be interesting to see what names become available closer to the trade deadline, though we have a good feeling about some potential ones who are already available. The St. Louis Cardinals, despite being 27-19, are still being viewed as a team that can move on from guys, and Dustin May would be the perfect arm to go after because he likely won't cost too much.

“While the St. Louis Cardinals’ surprising success may thwart plans for selling at the trade deadline, teams still are keeping a close eye on closer Riley O’Brien and pitchers JoJo Romero and Dustin May,” Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote.

May probably isn't the star name that a lot of Cubs fans are looking for. However, it's important to factor in that the Cubs haven't necessarily gone star-hunting at the trade deadline in recent years.

Factor in that the Cubs might not want to move on from some of their top prospects and that starting pitching is very expensive at the deadline, and somebody like the 28-year-old right-handed Texas native might be the best option to pursue.

I'd like to see the Cubs make this trade, but I'm a bit skeptical that anything will happen, since the Cardinals probably don't want to send him to a division rival.
