“This has happened in Kansas City,” Palmer said, according to Up & Adams. “They have followed the New England model, in a sense, of bringing older players in to play with Patrick.”
Host Kay Adams didn’t need much convincing.
“Go to KC,” she told Palmer flat out.
Palmer’s reasoning went beyond sentiment.
“I just think there are some question marks in that wide receiver room,” he told Adams. “I don’t know if they all entirely fit how Patrick plays.”
He added that uncertainty surrounding Kansas City’s wide receiver depth chart still leaves room for another veteran addition.
That uncertainty, Palmer argued, makes a proven veteran like Diggs an attractive option.

EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas City Chiefs
Once a top prospect, Anudike-Uzomah’s career has not panned out as he or the Chiefs would’ve hoped.
The 32nd overall pick in 2023 out of Kansas State, Anudike-Uzomah has played only 583 career snaps after being sidelined for all of 2025 with a hamstring injury. Throughout his pro tenure, he’s mustered just 26 total pressures and accrued a 57.6 overall PFF grade.
Kansas City declined Anudike-Uzomah’s fifth-year option at the start of May, and his placement on the roster is exacerbated after drafting R Mason Thomas in the second round. If Anudike-Uzomah is healthy, the Chiefs may outright cut their losses on a top pick.

Time to cut ties with Rashee Rice?
The Chiefs might be asking themselves whether the off-the-field headaches involving Rice are worth keeping him around.
Last year, Rice was suspended the first six games of the season due to his high-speed, hit-and-run crash in 2024. On Tuesday, reports emerged of Rice violating his probation and he now faces 30 days in jail, which could force him to be away from the team again during offseason practices. Rice also missed the bulk of the ’24 season due to a torn ACL.
After a dynamic rookie 2023 year, the Chiefs haven’t been able to rely on Rice. Perhaps it’s time the team cuts ties with the problematic receiver.
Kansas City Chiefs
It’s been a busy offseason for Kansas City on both sides of the ball. Naturally, the majority of the focus has been on Patrick Mahomes and his rehab from his ACL tear late last season, but GM Brett Veach has been steady in reshaping the roster for whenever his quarterback returns under center. Leading up to free agency, Veach spoke about wanting to get more explosive out of the backfield, and they did just that by signing Kenneth Walker III, fresh off winning Super Bowl MVP honors with the Seattle Seahawks. He provides the type of burst that has been lacking in Andy Reid’s offense for quite a while and should help make the offense more balanced. The Chiefs also brought in Justin Fields in a trade with the Jets, providing some more insurance if Mahomes isn’t ready to start the year.
The biggest changes, however, came on defense. Kansas City traded corner Trent McDuffie to the Rams in exchange for the No. 29 overall pick, and also saw fellow corner Jaylen Watson leave in free agency. That kept the Chiefs down a couple of starters in the secondary, but they filled one of those holes by trading up to the No. 6 overall pick to land LSU corner Mansoor Delane, who was considered the top player at his position in this class. Elsewhere in the draft, Peter Woods and R Mason Thomas are two additions that should help raise the ceiling of the defensive line.

Eagles’ Nolan Smith arrested after car clocked at 135 mph in Georgia | ESPN
Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith Jr. was arrested Friday and accused of speeding and reckless driving in Georgia, the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office told ESPN on Wednesday.
According to notes taken by a member of the sheriff’s office that night, Smith was clocked going 135 mph in a 70 mph zone on the interstate at 10:41 in the evening, a representative said.
Smith made bond and was released shortly after the arrest, the sheriff’s office said, adding that a future court date for Smith has been issued.
The Georgia Gazette was first to report Smith’s arrest.
Aaron Rodgers says he will retire after the 2026 NFL season: ‘This is it’ | NBC News
Rodgers, 42, spent more than four months deciding whether to return for a 22nd NFL season before he signed a one-year contract Monday to return to Pittsburgh for his second season with the Steelers.
Asked Wednesday whether the upcoming season would be the last of his career, Rodgers told reporters, “Yes, this is it.”
He will end his career with a Super Bowl title and ranked among the most prolific quarterbacks in the history of pro football. Rodgers is tied for first all-time in passer rating, fourth in passing touchdowns and fifth in passing yards.
One year ago Rodgers had suggested the 2025 season could be his last, then he helped Pittsburgh earn the AFC North division title and a playoff berth.
Rodgers said he felt “some doubt” about returning for this season before he decided to re-sign with Pittsburgh after April’s NFL draft, according to ESPN. One factor in his decision was Pittsburgh’s new coach, Mike McCarthy, whom Rodgers had played for in Green Bay for 13 seasons. He finished the season with his highest completion percentage and passer rating since 2021 and 24 touchdowns, his fewest in a season in which he played at least 10 games.
Joe Burrow: This is the most talented roster since I’ve been in Cincinnati | Pro Football Talk
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said earlier this week that the team has “everything we need” to contend for a Super Bowl title and he doubled down on his belief in the team’s capabilities at a press conference on Wednesday.
The Bengals spent the offseason targeting additions to their defense and added defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, edge rusher Boye Mafe, safety Bryan Cook, defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, second-round edge rusher Cashius Howell, and third-round cornerback Tacario Davis to the unit. The result is a group that Burrow feels stands apart from the teams he’s been on since he came to Cincinnati.
“I think this is the most talented roster that we’ve had since I’ve been here . . . We got guys that work really hard to put themselves in position to perform well, perform to our standard,” Burrow said. “We haven’t necessarily done that for a couple of years, so we brought some guys in who have been there and done that and have their own standard of play and are going to live up to that. Now we just have to come together as a unit and do it as a collective.”

Chiefs sign fourth-round pick, cornerback Jadon Canady
Entering Wednesday, we estimated that the Chiefs were only about $6.9 million under the league’s salary cap. Spotrac estimates that Canady’s 2026 initial cap charge will be about $1.9 million (on a $5.5 million total for the four-year deal). This should result in a net reduction of about $187,000 to the Chiefs’ available cap space.
We predict the Chiefs will need to make a move to open cap space before signing the sixth overall selection, former LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane, because of his estimated $7.6 million first year charge.
The team’s other first round selection, former Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods taken with pick No. 29, remains unsigned. Woods has an estimated 2026 cap charge of $3.3 million
Kansas City’s unsigned second round pick is former Oklahoma pass rusher R Mason Thomas. The 40th overall pick is expected to have a $2.2 million rookie cap hit.

If you were trying to convince someone Patrick Mahomes is the best QB you’ve ever seen and you could only show them one game, what game would it be?
