Josh Sweat landing spots: Cardinals receiving trade calls on star DE

· Yahoo Sports

The Arizona Cardinals are fielding trade calls on defensive end Josh Sweat, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz on Tuesday.

Sweat is coming off a career season in sacks (12) for his first season in the desert, but it could be a short-lived success for the Cardinals if the team does trade him.

He's a starting-caliber pass-rusher coming off a double-digit sack season, and he just turned 29 in March. The interest is likely to be real in Sweat and could net the Cardinals a meaningful 2027 draft pick.

Let's run through some options as to where he might land over the summer if he's traded.

Philadelphia Eagles

An Eagles reunion make the most sense, as Sweat played seven seasons with the franchise and won a Super Bowl with it. We're sure that Philly would love to bring Sweat back in to play a key role on its defensive line.

Kansas City Chiefs

We imagine the Chiefs would love to add Sweat to its pass-rushing rotation. The perennial title contender could use more juice up front, and Arizona could trade Sweat out of the NFC to an AFC powerhouse.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills always need pass-rushers for their postseason runs, and we imagine the Bills would be thrilled to get a player like Sweat at this point in the offseason. He'd be a slam dunk for Buffalo at this point.

Chicago Bears

Sweat could be the major pass-rushing addition the Bears have been looking for to boost their defense. Edge is still a need on the Chicago roster; Sweat would work wonders for the Bears in getting after the quarterback.

Green Bay Packers

Could the Packers make another splash along the defensive line and reunite Sweat with Jonathan Gannon in Green Bay? The Packers having Sweat and Micah Parsons coming off the edge would be terrifying for the rest of the NFL.
