Darnell Washington became the second player from the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2023 NFL Draft class to receive an extension, and the details behind his new deal have now been revealed.

  • Length: Four years
  • Total amount: $42 million
  • Guaranteed: $11.25 million
  • 2026 cap hit: $3.4 million
  • 2027 cap hit: $11.3 million
  • 2028 cap hit: $9.75 million
  • 2029 cap hit: $10.3 million
  • 2030 cap hit: $11 million

Selected by the Steelers with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Washington quickly emerged as one of the league's premier blocking tight ends thanks to his 6-foot-7, 300-plus-pound frame.

With Washington and Nick Herbig receiving new deals, the Steelers still have a few more players from the 2023 NFL Draft class to extend this offseason, including Broderick Jones, Keeanu Benton, and Joey Porter Jr.
