Missouri basketball guard Jayden Stone has signed his first professional contract.

Stone, who is from Perth, Australia, and spent one season with the Tigers, is returning to his home country to begin his professional career, as he has signed a one-year contract with the Sydney Kings, pending league approval, according to a social media post from the team Friday.

The guard was a starter and key player in Mizzou’s turnaround from an underwhelming nonconference showing to an NCAA Tournament berth in the 2025-26 season.

After spending much of November and December sidelined with injury, Stone returned to the Mizzou lineup in a Jan. 3 win over Florida and started each of the Tigers’ remaining 20 games of the year.

Stone, listed at 6 foot 4 and 185 pounds, averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists while playing 30.0 minutes per game in his final year of college. He was a late transfer pickup for Mizzou in May 2025 after missing the full 2024-25 season at West Virginia with a career-threatening neck injury.

Before moving up to the high-major level, Stone scored more than 20 points per game at Detroit Mercy in the 2023-24 campaign, which followed two seasons at Grand Canyon.

The Sydney Kings compete in the National Basketball League in Australia. The Kings won the 2025-26 NBL Championship and have the second-most titles in the league’s history.
