The New England Patriots worked out offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze, according to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson on Tuesday.

Ayedze most recently played for the Houston Gamblers of the UFL. He found success there and was named to the All-UFL First Team after being a part of a Gamblers offensive line that helped their running game average 120.3 yards per game. The former University of Maryland standout went undrafted in 2024 and served on NFL practice squads for the Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders.

He played college football at Division II Frostburg State and was a three-time First-team All-MEC selection. He then transferred to Maryland for his final college season.

The Patriots have loaded up at the tackle position, including drafting rookies Caleb Lomu and Dametrious Crownover to work behind Will Campbell and Morgan Moses. Ayedze would be another player with upside to develop behind the scenes.

This might also simply be the Patriots doing their due diligence on a player as a future option in case of an injury.
