The Sooners beat national No. 3-seed Georgia on Wednesday, 11-4, to clinch a spot in a best-of-three finale against No. 5-seed North Carolina. The appearance will be Oklahoma's fourth in the College World Series Finals.

OU turned the tables on the Bulldogs to book their trip. Georgia entered Wednesday as the best offense in the country, leading the nation in home runs. Instead, it was Oklahoma who torched the baseball. The Sooners hit five home runs, including two apiece by Dasan Harris and Jason Walk.

And they didn't come in a single burst. Oklahoma picked up 15 hits and scored in six different innings. Walk's first home run, a solo shot, opened the scoring in the third inning. Trey Gambill followed with a solo homer in the fourth while Harris, two batters later, hit a two-run home run to give OU a 4-0 lead after 4 1/2 innings.

Nick Wesloski kept Georgia at bay well enough. He gave up an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth and allowed two batters to reach while recording two outs in the sixth. LJ Mercurius came on and Oklahoma should have gotten out of the inning, but Dayton Tockey bobbled the ball near first base to load the bases. Mercurius then gave up back-to-back bases-loaded walks and Georgia was feeling it.

They were the last real mistakes Mercurius would make. The starter-turned-reliever induced a fielder's choice to get out of the inning then retired the next six batters, including closing out the seventh and eighth innings on strikeouts.

In the meantime, Jaxon Willits added an RBI double, Harris hit a two-run home run, Walk hit another solo shot and Gambill came up with an two-run double to finish off Oklahoma's impressive night.

Gambill finished 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, three RBIs and two runs. Walk went 2 for 4, both hits solo homers, with a walk. Both of Harris' two hits in five at-bats were home runs. Brendan Brock picked up three hits and Deiten LaChance picked up two.

The national championship series against North Carolina begins Saturday at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN. Game 2 will take place Sunday at 1:30 p.m. CT on ABC. And Game 3, if needed, would be Monday at 6 p.m. back on ESPN.
