The New Orleans Saints, similar to multiple teams in the top 10 of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, are in a position where they need to find a player who can make a major impact for them.

The Saints obviously haven't played the type of football that they were hoping for over the past few years, and while that doesn't look guaranteed to change with one draft pick, they can get a lot closer by hitting this pick out of the park in the first round.

According to the latest, it sounds like the Saints have a player in mind that they'd love to walk away with, which is none other than Carnell Tate out of Ohio State.

“I know a team like the New Orleans Saints will be all over him, but there are a lot of other teams that will want to pick him as well,” Mike Smith said of Tate.

“I’m not sure he makes it to number 8. He dominated his pro day, and this is not a deep draft for wide receivers, which makes him even more valuable to those teams at the top who need a receiver.”

Tate is viewed as the top wide receiver in this draft class, and for good reason. During his time at Ohio State, he proved he could make plays at a very high level.

While some suggested that he was never really the best wide receiver on his team, Tate was also the guy who made some very big plays in massive moments for the Buckeyes. Pairing him with the other young guys in this offense in New Orleans would be a lot of fun to watch.
