Büyüktuncel averaged 6.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game for the Huskers. He shot 46.8% from the field in 30 games. He scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two assists against Vanderbilt in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in March. Now, he will be playing for them.
Büyüktuncel officially entered the NCAA transfer portal on April 8, 2026. He put his name into the portal on the second day of the transfer window. He started in 61 of the 66 games he played for the program
This certainly stings a bit, given how he was a key part in helping the Huskers defeat Vanderbilt not even a month ago. That being said, he will get a chance to test his skills against SEC competition.
