The Philadelphia Phillies are set to begin a big weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles, which will be a big test coming off a sweep of the San Diego Padres.

For this NLDS rematch, the Phillies will begin by sending Zack Wheeler out for Game 1 on Friday night. But one of the Phillies pitchers won't be with the team for this series.
The Phillies announced a roster move with Aaron Nola before the Dodgers series that, while it might seem a bit worrying, isn't actually anything that Phillies fans should stress about.
Phillies make Aaron Nola roster move ahead of Dodgers series
"Prior to tonight's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Phillies announced the following roster moves: ... Right-handed pitcher Aaron Nola placed on the Paternity List. Right-handed pitcher Nolan Hoffman recalled from Lehigh Valley," the Phillies announced.
This roster move, placing Nola on the Paternity List, will have the $172 million Phillis right-handed veteran miss the Dodgers series out in Los Angeles.

Fortunately for the Phillies, this is some good timing. Nola is not scheduled to start during this Dodgers series, with Jesus Luzardo set to start on Saturday, and Andrew Painter starting on Sunday.
But, after the Dodgers series, the Phillies will need Nola back in the rotation. Fortunately, Nola will have an extra day as the Phillies don't play until Tuesday against the Padres.
While the Phillies won't have Nola for this weekend's series, it's not actually a bad thing at all. Instead, they'll have Hoffman as an extra reliever instead of Nola sitting on the bench waiting for his Tuesday start.
