One of Luka Doncic's former EuroLeague teammates will suit up for the Washington Huskies next season.
Croatian forward Boris Tišma committed to the Huskies on Tuesday after a season with Croatian club KK Zadar, where he averaged 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 26.1 minutes per game across 39 contests in the Croatian Premier League. Tišma also shot 41.1 percent from three-point range and 73 percent from the free throw line.

NEWS: Zadar’s Boris Tišma as committed to Washington, his agent @ArtursKalnitis tells DraftExpress.

The 24-year-old 6’9” Croatian forward averaged 10.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on a 60 2P% and 40 3P% in the Adriatic League and Croatian Premijer liga this season. pic.twitter.com/gfM1kXSPqD
Tišma originally debuted as a 17-year-old for Real Madrid during the 2019-20 season, but signed with the Spanish club in 2015 and teamed with Doncic at the team's youth academy. After a 2021 loan to Real Betis in the Spanish second division, Tišma declared for the 2021 NBA draft but withdrew his name from consideration after signing a multi-year deal with the Montenegrin team SC Derby.
He was named to the 2018 U16 Euro Championships All-Tournament team while representing Croatia, leading them to a gold medal with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
Now, the 24-year-old Tišma will arrive on Montlake looking to fill the shoes of Hannes Steinbach, a projected lottery pick in this summer's NBA Draft. He joins Brazilian forward Wini Braga and Australian guard Tristan Devers as international commitments, making the trip to Seattle for what will likely be a make-or-break season for third-year head coach Danny Sprinkle.
Tišma is the 14th player on the Huskies roster, which leaves two spots potentially open after Washington carried 16 players last season. Tišma, Braga, and Devers join Ryan Beasley (San Francisco), Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson), LeJuan Watts (Texas Tech), and Steele Venters (Gonzaga) as experienced new arrivals. Washington also returns bigs Nikola Dzepina, Mady Traore, and Lathan Sommerville, forwards Wesley Yates III and Jasir Rencher, and walk-on guard Brandon Roy Jr., while adding Lattimore Ford from the high school ranks.
Shooting has clearly been at a premium this offseason after the Huskies struggled again from behind the arc: Tišma and Friedrichsen especially will be expected to add some more firepower from deep. Time in the rotation will also be at a premium in the frontcourt with Watts, Venters, Traore, Sommerville, Dzepina, and Tišma in the mix to get on the court frequently. Watts' ability as a primary ballhandler may allow Washington to play bigger than they did last season and adjust to their talent - Washington is high on Traore, even though he missed all of last year, Watts nearly declared for the NBA draft, Sommerville played a ton last season, Venters and Dzepina have high-end potential, and Tišma brings eight seasons of professional basketball experience.
