After scoring an incredible hat trick on Tuesday night, Lionel Messi is now tied as the all-time leading scorer in men's World Cup history.

The eight time Ballon d'Or winner scored three times for Argentina in its World Cup opener against Algeria on Tuesday, June 16, reaching 16 World Cup goals in his illustrious career.
It was his first hat trick in the World Cup and put the defending champs up 3-0.
Messi went into the game trailing Miroslav Klose of Germany by three goals for the record, but he exited as the co-leading scorer in men's World Cup history.
Brazil legend Marta holds the overall scoring record with 17 goals.
